Vampires

This will be a bit hypocritical seeing as how I am a big fan of the X-Men (not even just their movies, but the team, like them as people) but vampires are stupid. I can respect a good vampire in a movie that takes place no later than 1890. I do not, however, respect modern day vampires who “live among humans” and have dating issues and live in the deep south. The target audience of True Blood is a complex one. It’s the “little girl” inside every woman who reads dirty romance novels. The little girl part of them thinks vampires are mysterious and cool and the older part wants to watch them bang and have relationship problems. So don’t try and explain the synthetic blood and that some dude turns into a horse in your effort to convince me that it’s good and that you’re not a freak for watching it.  I’ve never seen any part of Twilight but I will also say I would not enjoy it. Not only because of the vampires but also because that chic Kristin Stewart kinda scares me. I assume her character has a drug problem  based on how busted she looks. Normally that would get me interested but it seems like she’s past the point where she’s fun at parties. People probably don’t even offer her drugs anymore. They sit her down and talk to her about how banged up she looks. The one lesson to be learned here is that teenagers with powers sell. We’ve seen it with wizards and vampires. They key is to figure out what comes next. I’m going to get to work on a book about 12 year olds who turn into unicorns. Bingo!
